If you like designer clothes for your children and yourself, but don’t want to pay too much, Henriëtte is the place to be. Years before ”vintage” and ”sustainable” became hip, she had her own store with –as good as new- children’s clothes and women’s clothes from the higher segment.
- A friend tipped me off about this gem, so on a free morning I curiously jumped on my bike.
- The shop with the characteristic green white awnings is located in a quiet side street of the busy,
- multicultural Kruisstraat and Woenselse Markt.
- Henriette and her daughter Fenneke work in the shop, which she started in 1984.
Inside, the vacuum cleaner was just being pushed aside and the first customers were already happily browsing, drinking a cup of tea that was invitingly ready. At the front of the store you will find the children’s clothing and at the back and in the side part of the store hangs the women’s clothing.
The store is tastefully decorated with chandeliers on the ceiling, classic wallpaper and a beautiful stone floor. The stained glass windows are also special details.
The website has an overview of the brands that Henriëtte has. Think of: Petit Bateau, Mc Gregor, Riverwoods and Bengh for your children and for yourself brands like Liu Jo, Marc Cain, Gaastra and Maison Scotch. On her Facebook page there are often beautiful items with photo, brand, size and price. Online window shopping, so to speak.
Even if you have any branded clothing left over, you can bring it to Henriette. If it fits her formula in terms of brand and quality, it will go on the shelves. When you sell it, you will receive a portion of the proceeds. Because in her words: ”What was a bad buy for one person, is a golden find for another”.
